How can polynomial functions be written when given the zeros?

OpenStudy (teddyiswatshecallsme):

2x^2 + 2x - 0

OpenStudy (teddyiswatshecallsme):

I think.

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

well it can be written as the product of linear factors if you know a polynomial has 2 unequal zeros at x = a and x = -b then x = a means x -a = 0 and (x - a) is a factor x = -b means x + b = 0 and (x + b) is a factor so f(x) = (x -a)(x + b) hope it helps
