Hey guys I am pretty clueless as to how I can talk my dog into not ruining my house by crapping everywhere. He has his own toilet. He does not look after his business in it. That's the problem. I've tried to talk him out of it like so many times but since he never listens I end up having to teach him a pain lesson. However I am not overly proud of using physical force to discipline a dog that cannot speak. This morning it happened again. I had to impart a lesson, but it hurts me more than it hurt my dog. Anyone ?

You can reward it's partial approximations to the goal that you want to reach. (Like Pavlov's psychological study with rats if I am not mistaken that is where the idea comes from)

I am trying to (perhaps) propose the following:

First reward the dog when it gets a certain distance away from its toilet.
Then as time will go by minimize that distance, and stop rewarding it until it goes to the bathroom and then reward. After it gets used to the bathroom, stop rewards at all.
