Suppose that y varies inversely with x. Write an equation for the inverse variation. y = 2 when x = 3 a. x=y/1 b. y=x/6 c. y=6/x d. y=x

OpenStudy (sepeario):

Okay this is pretty straight forward. We know that if y varies INVERSELY as x, then \[y=1/x\] as that is the general form of inverse variation. So which one of the solutions is in that form?

Nnesha (nnesha):

k***

Nnesha (nnesha):

\[\rm y=\frac{ 1 }{ x}k~~or~~ y=\frac{ k }{ x}\]where k is constant of variation

OpenStudy (sepeario):

haha just trying to be simple @Nnesha

Nnesha (nnesha):

Cool.
