OpenStudy (texaschic101):

OpenStudy (irishboy123):

despite England's adoption

OpenStudy (irishboy123):

the Reformation was a northern european and english thing, initially lots of countries stayed catholic so , indeed, this must be a multiple choice thing

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I agree it's got to be Ireland, but are we sure it's not France?

OpenStudy (irishboy123):

France stayed predominantly Catholic. it all boils down to the official state religion so there were protestants in France as there were in England but the French monarchy was catholic and the vast majority of people were too the english monarchy eventually forced protestantism upon the people

OpenStudy (irishboy123):

and the Englsh tried very hard to force protestantism on Ireland but it was at the time largely a huge failure
