Its about balancing the equation \[\frac{ x }{ 5 } -7= 2q\] First I want to add 7 to each side \[\frac{ x }{ 5 }=2q+7\] Since 2q and 7 are not like term we cant add them together. so we just express it like that Next I want to multiply both sides by 5 \[x= 5(2q+7)\] Now expand the brackets \[x= 10q+35\] again, 10q and 35 are not like terms, hence we dont add them together but leave it as it os.

Look more into adding like terms, what your doing is adding 7 to 2q which we dont do in mathematics. we can only add two terms if they look EXACTLY the same. for example if it was 7q and 2q = 9q but 7 + 2q = 7 + 2q
