As a wave travels through a medium, it displaces particles in a direction parallel to the motion of the wave. We can conclude this is a: (Please Help) (I believe it is A)

it's not A keep asking or read this http://hyperphysics.phy-astr.gsu.edu/hbase/sound/tralon.html
The answer is D... In this context transverse means means perpendicular to the direction of travel. So it is neither A or C. Also, just because the wave has a constant direction of motion (propagating to the right for instance at a constant speed) does not mean it has to be a longitudinal wave. Electromagnetic waves are examples of transverse waves which can propagate in a single direction unimpeded. So that rules out B.
Thanks guys!
