OpenStudy (republican31):

Romeo and Juliet to modern English: When asked if she could love Paris, Juliet replies, "I'll look to like, if looking liking move." She is saying that she has not seriously thought about marriage. will obey her mothers wishes. thinks Paris is handsome. will purposefully deceive her mother and marry Romeo. I know what it means, but I don't think that any of these answers fit.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The simplified translation of that line is 'I will try to like him, if trying can make me like him'. Based on that alone, I think the most likely answer is the 2nd option, that she 'will obey her mothers wishes.'

OpenStudy (hhopke):

@republican31 I agree, these answers don't really fit. Paris is probably handsome, but Juliet wouldn't care about that. She isn't the kind of person to purposefully deceive her mother, so that's out. I think that she was thinking along the lines of, "I'll 'marry' him if my parents tell me I have to, but I don't want to." She's probably thought about it, and dislikes the idea- but doesn't want to purposefully defy her mother. I'm sure I didn't really help answer your question, but I hope I could give some insight. :)
