OpenStudy (surryyy):

Given f(x)=3x+4 and g(x)=6x , what is g(x)-f(x) ? 3x+4 -3x+4 -3x-4 3x-4

OpenStudy (rushwr):

What do u think ?

OpenStudy (surryyy):

3x-4?

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

I think I want sleep...Is that correct @rushwr?

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

Well um lets see here... (3x - 4) - (6x) So umm What's 3 - 6?

OpenStudy (surryyy):

wait. it would be -3x-4

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

I would say...What about you Rush?

OpenStudy (rushwr):

This is easy though ! we know these: \[g(x)=6x \] and \[f(x)=3x+4\] so we are asked to find g(x)-f(x) we just have to substitute the values given in to this. That is 6x-(3x+4) = 6x -3x-4 = 3x-4 So the answer would be the last one !

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

Ohhh Combine like terms...My bad! I'm not good at these

OpenStudy (rushwr):

they have asked us for g(x)-f(x) not f(x)- g(x)

OpenStudy (surryyy):

oh ok thnx!
