help!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Vocaloid

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Vocaloid please help!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@welshfella

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yay! can we get started ? :)

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

go online and find the high temperature and low temperature for today in your area... I can't do this for you...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i know you cant but can you help me do it .. ill do it and then you tell me if its correct or incorrect :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Vocaloid

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

like I just said... go to google and find the high and low temperature, wherever it is you live.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay but the part that i dont understand is when it says to subtract previous from current temp. @Vocaloid

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you tell me how to do that part and then i wont need help :)

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

on day 2, you would do day2 minus day 1 temp on day 3, you would do day 3 minus day 2 temp and keep going until you reach the end of the table

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what do i do for day 1 though?

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

nothing, you leave it blank

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i cant ill get points off

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for day 1 do i subtract from yesterdays temp?

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

for day 1, you can't fill in that column.... there is no previous temperature to fill in see how it says "N/A"? that means you leave that part alone

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohh! okay thanks :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im so sorry for bothering you :) i hope your not mad! have a great day <3

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

nah, I'm not mad, you have a nice day too

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh im sorry i forgot to ask ... what do i do where it says difference?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Vocaloid

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

same thing for the subtract column, you write (current temperature) - previous temperature and for the "difference" column, you write the answer you get when you subtract

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

so, as an example, if current temperature is 70 and previous temperature is 65 the "subtract" column is 70-65 the "difference" is 5

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

at least, that's the way I see it, it's a bit vague

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thanks!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hey! @Vocaloid so i already filled out everything in the table! :) can you help me write a mathematical expression using the information from your table to answer the following questions please :)

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

show me your table

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this is my table to help you :)

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

your subtract columns are incorrect you need to switch the two values so, as an example, for day 2 you have 86-88 it should be 88-86 redo the table please

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

it's current temperature - previous temperature

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no its correct because they saif you can have negative answers tooo :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and your wrong its previous temp - current temp

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

I understand that you can have negative and positive numbers still, "subtract previous temperature from current temperature" means "current temperature - previous temperature"

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

"subtract A from B" means "B-A"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont think so

OpenStudy (anonymous):

because i did an assignment like this and i did it the way im doing it now and they said it was correct

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

if you insist, then we can use your numbers

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

anyway, let's go to the first question, ok?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so can you help me with the mathematical expression please

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok whats the first question

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

find the average of all the numbers in the first difference column

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4? @Vocaloid

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

nope... remember what average means add the numbers together and divide by 6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

0.5?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Vocaloid

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

right

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

for question 2, do the same thing with the other difference column

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait so is this the full answer for question 1: -2 + -2 + 5 + 3 + -2 + 1 = 3 3 / 6 = 0.5 The answer is 0.5 . @Vocaloid

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@ikram002p

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what two numbers are between 0.5 @ikram002p @welshfella

OpenStudy (welshfella):

yea 0.5 looks good

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok awesome! but it says if your answer is not an integer, in this case 0.5 is not, what two integers are between 0.5 @surjithayer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

all i need to know is what two numbers are between 0.5 @surjithayer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if you are talking of integers ,then 0.5 is between 0 and 1 or if you are talking of whole numbers ,then again it is between 0 and 1
