OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

with?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

idk what that bc I cant open it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh okay I will text you back in a few..busy right now

The number of fish (f) in a fish tank increases when the number of algae blooms (a) decreases. Write the correct equation for this scenario, and solve for the number of fish when there are 4 algae blooms. Algae Blooms Fish 10 10 25 4 f = 1a; f = 4 f = .1a; f = .4 f = 100 over a; f = 25 f = 100 over a; f = 400

@jim_thompson5910

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

well the first answer choice is f = 1a basically f = a that is true for the first row but NOT true for the second row so hopefully you see why choice A is eliminated?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so its either c or d

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

the function is definitely 100/a

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

now plug in a = 4 to find the value of f

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so its C

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

yes

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

since 100/a = 100/4 = 25

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

no problem

OpenStudy (anonymous):

could you help me some more with some other question

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

sure, one more

OpenStudy (anonymous):

alright you want me to put it on here

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

either way is fine

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you open it?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

the table only shows g(x)

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

I don't see f(x) anywhere

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it has f(x) on the graph but i dont understand this one

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

the graph doesn't show up. All I see is a table

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its a straight line up and down from-1 on the graph for f(x)

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

can you post a screenshot of it?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

ok go ahead and post it when you're ready

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you open that

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

can you attach it where it says "attach file" under the text box?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got it

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

Thanks. That helps clear things up

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

From what I see, f(x) is a complete vertical line that will NEVER cross the y axis. So it does not have any y-intercepts at all.

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

Saying things like `g(x) has a larger y-intercept` or `they both have the same y-intercept` makes no sense

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haha yes lol and it makes more since when i had to look at it for like 30 mins im tired now lol

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

it's a somewhat misleading question, so I can see how you got stuck

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes lol and thanks sorry about all that i was stressing out big time.Do you need help on anything?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

That's ok. There's no worries. I don't have any questions but thanks for asking.
