Suppose we obtain clinical samples from three muscle biopsies, one from a muscle that has undergone hypertrophy, a second from a muscle that shows signs of hyperplasia, and a third that is from a normal muscle. If we extract DNA from 100 mg of each biopsy, would we expect the same or different amounts of DNA from each sample? Explain your reasoning carefully and thoroughly.

Sorry, i have no idea about it... was searching for it and found... http://www.research.uci.edu/facilities-services/tmf/technical-advice/dna-prep.html

Hypertrophy causes unwanted enlargement of the cells whereas hyperplasia produces cells at rapid rate. Therefore the DNA sampled from muscles that have already undergone hypertrophy will be comparatively larger than muscles with hyperplasia, and since hyperplasia is a condition in which cells are produced rapidly it does not affect the size. Therefore I would say that DNA extracted from the muscle with hypertrophy is larger and there is no difference of DNA in hyperplasia cell.s
There is no difference of DNa between hyperplasia and normal muscle.
I hope that helps
but can you give me an answer like for this cause i have to explain this and how wouls i explain this.
Give me a couple minutes to check my answer :)
We would not get the same number of DNA from each case. Hypertrophy is when the cells get bigger in size(not in the quantity) and hyperplasia is when the number of cells would increase which would result in more DNA. The only difference between hypertrophy and a normal muscle is the cells in a muscle showing hypertrophy would be much larger in volume and diameter versus in a normal muscle where (obviously) the muscle and cell are average(normal). - If you need more details let me know :)

Hyperplasia is the abnormal proliferation of tissue cells resulting in the formation of a tumour or gall. Hypertrophy is an increase in the size of an organ, independent of natural growth, due to enlargement of its constituent cells. This is the only thing I have learned about this. Sorry but if u can give me a little time I will go through some articles and tell you !
