The equation f(x) = 5x2 − 30x + 6 represents a parabola. What is the vertex of the parabola? (−5, 281) (5, −19) (−3, 141) (3, −39)

OpenStudy (triciaal):

standard ax^2 +bx + c vertex a(x-h)^2 + k

Nnesha (nnesha):

\[\huge\rm \frac{ -b }{ 2a }\] use this formula to find x-coordinate of the vertex then substitute all x's for its value into f(x) equation to find y-coordinate of the vertex

OpenStudy (triciaal):

vertex (h, k)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what would i input into the formula?

Nnesha (nnesha):

\[\huge\rm Ax^2+Bx+C\] quadratic equation where a=leading coefficient b=middle term c=constant term

OpenStudy (luigi0210):

There are two ways to find the vertex.. and since your equation is already in standard form, using \(\large \frac{-b}{2a} \) would be easier. unless you want to complete the square and use @triciaal 's way

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh, okay. Thank you, I will give you an update on how I do :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, Look at the formula, ax^2 How many x^2 numbers do you have in your equation? bx How many numbers do you have that have x? and c, your only remaing number.
