In a Psycology and Socioly text from 1969 it was estimated that there were 1 million illegal abortion a year. Since Roe vs Wade, in 1973, there's been an average of 1.4 million legal abortions per year with a peek about 1999 to todays average of 1.2 million, even though the populace has increase by 100 million. Apparantly by making abortion legal it brought to the public attention of what was already transpiring and caused them to deal with the problem in a realistic way, teaching abstinince, contraception, and the availibility of adoption.

This is an example where making something illegal does not deter if from happening, but making it legal forces the populace to look at it and find realistic solutions to the problem. Recently State's have been trying to limit abortions for reason of fetal abnomalities, thee are 16,000 per year of these of which are 75% of detected down syndrome fetuses. Fear of the slippery slope where one can abort a fetus due to gender, mental illness, or IQ is the rational, but in this country no reason need be given for an abortion.

Counting births, miscarriages, and abortions, theres about 6.5 million conception a year in the US. This gives a abortion rate of about 18 %, this can only be lowered by work within the society rather than governmental controls. An example where governmental controls had not worked is alcohol, which was illegal from 1919 to 1933 creating a black market and the roaring 20's. Sadly since legalized there's been no real education on its use, in fact advertizements glorify it's use. 68 % of US citizens use alcohol to some extent, and about 1 % of those end up addicted requiring Rehab and some ongoing support. The same goes for gambling and marijuana legalized or not, our culture must teach the next generation many things about our own failings.

Correction there are 160,000 fetal abnormalities detected per year. This may increase due to possible Zika virus connection to microcephaly

We call this innovation, in terms of economics it levels against quality.

My analysis is one where I realize nature is not God the Father and everyone born on this planet are not necessarily within his domain, as in the Helenistic world. We must realize that as we follow the God's moral code as Christians we are not enforcers in this world and try to bring about some mercy. Justice without Mercy is suicide, these are the two main principles in the Prophets given by God the Father.
