Why does water go from a high potential area to a lower one? Explain please.

Water molecules in a high potential area are all crammed together, therefore the water molecules will move to a lower one because there is more room.
Water moves through potential gradient...u may call it osmosis process...in high potential solvent i.e water is in high concentration bt in lower potential it is in lower concentration leading to incresed concentration of solute...so a difference in potential is created between two....as a result water mover from its high concentration to low concentration...
