Question - I'm told to graph y=x-2. So the teacher says you graph the y intercept of -2 and go up 1 and over 1 to the right to get the next point. I understand how we got the -2 point but what in this equation tells me to go up and over 1?

the x represents the slope, but there you see that there is no number, so you go up one and over 1, if there was like 1/2, it will be go up 1 and over 2. The slope its always a fraction, or nothing, nothing means 1 up 1 over.
