Another question please

OpenStudy (anonymous):

9^12/9^3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A) 9^15 B) 9^4 C) 9^9 D) 1^4

OpenStudy (bloomlocke367):

So you have \(\large\frac{9^{12}}{9^3}\). Do you know HOW to divide exponents?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No

OpenStudy (bloomlocke367):

well, just when you multiply two or more exponents, all you have to do is add them together (as long as the base is the same) so when you divide two or more exponents, you subtract. For example: \(\large\frac{x^\color{red}{7}}{x^\color{red}{5}}=x^2\). Do you understand that?

OpenStudy (bloomlocke367):

What would you get from your problem?

OpenStudy (bloomlocke367):

subtract 3 from 12

OpenStudy (bloomlocke367):

Please do not give direct answers as they are against the CoC @madhu.mukherjee.946

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes, sorry I was kinda busy.. I did right the answer before she replied @BloomLocke367

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you.. I never knew how to divide or multiply exponents

OpenStudy (bloomlocke367):

haha, no problem :) if you need more help feel free to tag me and I'll do the best I can :D
