If you add or subtract something directly from you x, then if you add say 5, then your graph shifts 5 units left and if you subtract 5 from x, your graph sifts 5 units right

It's the same with f(x) but opposite directions in which you shift graph, add a number->shift left, subtract a number->shift right

Look at the calculator, notice if you add something to x, it moves to left by that much and if you subtract, it moves to right by that much

Isn't it given? If you want to find f(x+a) you shift f(x) left by a units, I don't understand what you mean by find
