Why are animal cells round
because they have to cell walls to keep them in one place
animals cells don't have a cell wall they have a plasma membrane and the plant cell is squarish because the cell wall is very ridged and that causes it's wall to be more defined
a plant cell is square because it has a cell wall that keeps it protected. an animal cell does not have a cell wall and that why is is round because it isn't as tight as a plant cell.
Not all animal cells are spherical. However, generally speaking, they lack a definite shape unlike cells, such as plant cells, that have a rigid cell wall to maintain a rigid shape*. *Note under extreme conditions the wall can fail and cause distortions.
Exactly as mrdoldum said. Animal cells don't have any definite shape. Sometime they may appear to be round or spherical but most of the time they won't. On contrary to this plant cells have a rigid covering of cell wall which keeps its shape definite.
Nerve cells can look super weird. In giraffes, certain nerve cells can be incredibly long, around 15 feet, which is nothing compared to the 44 feet and 75 feet of certain nerve cells in giant squid and blue whales, respectively.
