pooja195 (pooja195):

Explain step by step how you would obtain the density of a person. Explain what you would need and then what you would need to do. Number your steps ( you can have as many steps as you want).

OpenStudy (cliffordtapp):

here is your answer. The density of a human body is the measurement of the amount of mass present in each unit of the body’s volume. The density of most objects can be studied in relation to water, which has a density of 1.0 gram per cubic centimeter. Objects with a density greater than 1.0 will sink in water, while less dense objects float. Under different circumstances, the human body is capable of either sinking or floating in water, which indicates the density of a person is close to 1.0 g per cubic centimeter.

I didnt want a plagerized answer.... @iambatman @Abhisar @sleepyjess ??? ;-;

OpenStudy (cliffordtapp):

oh sorry i just found it and i answered your question

OpenStudy (abhisar):

Hey Paajo :P See, density is basically mass per volume i.e. \(\sf \Large \frac{Mass}{Volume}\). So in order to determine density we need to know two things, the mass and the volume of the person. Let's suppose that we want to determine your density (O_O) then, STEP 1 (Determination of mass): That's pretty simple, we use a weighing scale to obtain that!!! STEP 2 (Determination of volume) : That's not so simple since our body is not a regular shape like cube or cuboid so we can't measure the volume simply by using measuring scale. What to do now???? :O Umm..We can't measure the volume of our body directly but we can measure it indirectly. Suppose we take a glass full of water upto its rim and then submerge a stone inside it. What will happen??? Stone will displace a volume of water out equal to its own volume. Pooja Says: So what?? I say: We can use this to calculate our own volume!!! It's time to drop you inside a tank full of water and I'll calculate the volume of water which comes and that will be your volume !!! ;D So we got all our ingredients for calculating density. Simply divide the mass by volume . I hope it helps :3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know what I'd do, get a giant hot tub and fill it to the top. Then I'd sit inside it, and all the water that spilled out, I'd collect it in a bucket so I could measure the volume of it later after I'm done enjoying the hot tub. After that I'd weigh myself, and divide the mass by volume to find my density.

pooja195 (pooja195):

@Abhisar thank you soooo much <3 :*

OpenStudy (abhisar):

Yw c:

OpenStudy (abhisar):

oh btw, don't forget to wear ur swimming costume unless you wanna spoil your clothes xD

pooja195 (pooja195):

XD LOL
