replace x with -6
replace y with 4
replace z with -13
so you have
|-6+4|+|-13|
now |-13|=13 was correct but |-6+4| doesn't equal 6+4
you are suppose to computer the sum inside the absolute value first
then take the absolute value
OpenStudy (pinklion23):
you do not know what 6+4+13 im sure you know
OpenStudy (pinklion23):
freckles i got it :D
OpenStudy (freckles):
that is incorrect though
OpenStudy (freckles):
@trwatkins1 do you know what -6+4 is?

no the answer is positive
OpenStudy (freckles):
right
OpenStudy (freckles):
so you have |-2|+|-13|
OpenStudy (freckles):
now take the absolute value of each term
OpenStudy (freckles):
since you have absolute value around each term
