what do you get when you add a negative and a negative?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

u get a positive

why

hi

hi

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you get a negative. say you have -1+-1 You can switch the signs to understand it better so -1+-1 is also -1-1 and negative one minus one is a negative. If you multiply a negative times a negative THEN it is positive, but with addition, if you add a negative and a negative, it is still negative.

you get a negative, just like what @gabrielabarker said
