OpenStudy (destinyyyy):

Is this right? (Slope-inter. form)

OpenStudy (destinyyyy):

(8,4) x-inter. 2 Slope- 4/6 y=4/6x-8/6

OpenStudy (destinyyyy):

My example said to multiple the numerator to -8 but my other example divided the denominator..

OpenStudy (freckles):

x-intercept 2 means the point is (2,0) so right your slope is (4-0)/(8-2)=4/6 or if you reduce 2/3 now checking your y-intercept (second please )

OpenStudy (freckles):

\[y=\frac{2}{3}x+b \text{ where } b \text{ is the y-intercept } \\ \text{ we know the point } (2,0) \text{ is on the line } \\ \text{ this says when } x=2 \text{ we have } y=0 \\ \text{ I'm going to enter this point in to find } b \\ 0=\frac{2}{3}(2)+b \\ b=\frac{-4}{3}\] which is what you also got but you just don't have it in reduced form

OpenStudy (freckles):

so your answer is right it is just not simplified/reduced or whatever

OpenStudy (destinyyyy):

Alright thanks.
