What measurement do you need to calculate in order to determine the amount of space a structure encloses ? Mmm. . would it be the Surface Area ? Area ? Or the Volume ?

well lets say you want to find out how much water a cup can hold, would you measure the amount of area the small bottom of the cup has? would you measure the amount of surface on the outside of the cup? or would you measure the volume of the inside of the cup?

ok so i have another question, i have a cylinder with the base = 70 and height = 60, and im trying to find the radius. Would the radius be the half of 70 ? 35 ?

yup thats correct! since the base is equal to the diameter, the radius would just be half that or 35

@jeweaver145 i have yet another question, to find the the space of the "floor" or "floor "space" what formula will be used their ? Volume ?

volume implies 3 dimensions, length, width, and depth, when measuring floor space we wouldn't necessarily be using three dimensions, but only 2. Imagine it as figuring out how much carpet to put in a room. The carpet is flat and it only length and width. so you want to know how much "area" the carpet covers. help?

Yes i just need to know the "area" of the carpet in a sense. The dimensions of this object is base = 68 height = 41 side = 53.26

I ended up using b^2 ( area of a square, since the "floor" of this object is a prism) and i got 4624,
