Lipids are one of the four organic molecules, and their purpose is to store energy. They are composed of quantities of Carbon and Hydrogen, and small amounts of Oxygen. In a molecular-size view, there is no such thing as a lipid monomer. They are always macromolecules. Concerning types of lipids, there are 5: Fatty Acids, Phospholipids, Tryglicerides, Steroids, and Waxes.
