An adjective phrase is a phrase acting as an adjective. It will modify a noun or a pronoun. It will answer the questions : What kind ?, Which one ?, or How many ?. Most creatures can venture near an elephant without fear. If this is underlined : " near an elephant ".... It would be an adverb phrase modifying the verb " venture " , answering the question " where ? " If this is underlined : " without fear "....
