The inspection of refrigerators on an assembly line. You should still assume that no refrigerator has both too much and too little enamel; however, use the table below instead of that given in your book to answer the following questions. Event Probability Too much enamel 0.24 Too little enamel 0.2 Uneven application 0.29 No defects noted 0.47 (1) What is the probability of a paint defect? (2) What is the probability of a paint defect which includes an improper amount of paint? (3) What is the probability of a paint defect which results from an improper amount of paint and uneven application? (4) What is the probability of a paint defect which results from the proper amount of paint, but uneven application?
I just found number one as .53. I can't figure out the rest though
Show me ur answers.
the wrong ones?
what do u think about the second one
would it be .24+.2+.29?
okay. 3) .49?
quick question, why do you think improper amount means too little enamel and not also too much enamel?
ooops sorry about that !!!!! I'm really sorry !!! when it says improper u have to take both of it !!! Sorry was doing a chem question alongside !!!
2) .44?
yep ! 3?
do you take .44*.29?=.1276?
no bubs u have to add those 2 probabilities together. !!! U don't multiply !!!
so .73 for #3 and .76 for #4?
how did u get 0.76 for he 4th one ?
i took the uneven application and added it to no defects noted
no defects is not included in the paint defect right? No defects means those are good and no defect at all. So u don't add it okai ?
so you are saying the answer is .47?
no no
The question says (4) What is the probability of a paint defect which results from the proper amount of paint, but uneven application? Now it's pretty clear that they are asking about the ones that have some kind of a defect right?
so subtract .29 from .47?
No u just don't touch the probability of no defects side okai. Here they have involved 3 types of paint defects 1)too much of enamel 2) less enamel 3) uneven right? u have to work with these probabilities. Now they have asked us the defect due to uneven application. Because they have clearly said that they are no problems with the amount of paint right? So it can't be either too much or less amount of enamel so we are left with the probability of the uneven application. DIdi u get it ?
so just .29
yeah !
3 and 4 are wrong
can u give me the link to the question I'll see
what was ur 2nd answer !
.44
for the 3rd check if 0.3869 is correct
I only have three attempts remaining
so I should try to have the fourth also
mm wait @steve816 @Luigi0210 @UnkleRhaukus @nincompoop Would u mind help this one !!! Please little confused
@BAdhi do you know how to do number 3 and 4?
