The average rate of change from \(f(x_1)\) to \(f(x_2)\) is given by the fraction: \(\dfrac{f(x_2) - f(x_1)}{x_2 - x_1} \)

The two x values you were given are x1 and x2. Let x1 = -1, and let x2 = -3. Now find the values of the function f at -1 and -3. In other words, find f(x1) and f(x2). Then plug in all the values into the fraction above, and find the average rate of change of the function from x = -1 to x = -3.
