Bio question

OpenStudy (vera_ewing):

OpenStudy (vera_ewing):

I'm pretty sure it's B.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

id go with d cause the only clear thing on your graph is that they are succeeding in growing

OpenStudy (vera_ewing):

But the amount of offspring produced is a lot less than Species A and B...

OpenStudy (vera_ewing):

@Koikkara

OpenStudy (anonymous):

they are gonna be much lower considering its a newly formed hybrid but in a stable environment like it says a species tends to expand thus making me think its D

OpenStudy (rushwr):

@vera_ewing I don't think the reproductive barrier will be weakened ... If the barriers were weakened there should be an increment in the no. of individuals right ? I don't see such increment here . Right? Do u agree?

OpenStudy (vera_ewing):

Right, that's true...so which one do you think it is?

OpenStudy (rushwr):

still thinking lol @Koikkara What do u think ?

OpenStudy (rushwr):

It can't be A either there's no such increment right?

OpenStudy (vera_ewing):

@Ashleyisakitty What do you think?

OpenStudy (rushwr):

y?

OpenStudy (rushwr):

Look at the graph given do see the variation of the population. SO A is out

OpenStudy (rushwr):

And C is out because a cross between 2 hybrids will result in hybrid speciation which again results in a new species reproductively isolated from the parent species. So I guess it's D

OpenStudy (vera_ewing):

Ok...that makes sense.

OpenStudy (koikkara):

hmm, i was not thinking, here i feel the value of a good Lag...lol Well, Over time, two hybrid species may further diverge or reconnect, depending on the fitness strength and the reproductive barriers of the hybrids.

OpenStudy (koikkara):

The option is \(B\) as After speciation, or sufficient evolutionary change for one species to become two distinct species, the two species may continue to co-habitate and interact.

OpenStudy (koikkara):

The Option \(D\) says Depending on the fitness of the hybrid offspring relative to the parents, the two species may either stay as two distinct species (reinforcement), or become one species again (reconnection).

OpenStudy (koikkara):

Since, the question is related to hybrid Zone: The area in which two closely-related species interact and reproduce ; their offspring are known as hybrids....i.ee It's \(D\)
