Use variables of weight, W, and distance, D. (You will have to use one of your data points to find your constant of variation.) (1 point for the general form of variation, 1 point for the constant variation, and 1 point for the final equation)

OpenStudy (welshfella):

there is an inverse relationship between W and d. As w increases d decreases. so W = k/d where k is a constant to be found plug in one value of W and the corresponding value of d into the above equation then you can find the value of k.

OpenStudy (welshfella):

lets try the first 2 values 120 = k/100 now solve for k.

OpenStudy (welshfella):

do you follow this? can you find what k is?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im not too sure..would you multiply both sides by 100/1 to isolate the variable?
