Find the perimeter of the square. A. 64 ft B. 32 ft C. 16 ft D. 8 ft

OpenStudy (abb0t):

The perimeter is just the sum of all sides. If you have a square of length 8, then you have 4 sides, that's 8 +8 + 8 +8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

|dw:1443013307207:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

just do 2l+2w=P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so 2(8)+2(8)=P or do l^2 8^2=P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sry ignore the second half of that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i was thinking area there...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it's okay

OpenStudy (abb0t):

That's the formula for the perimeter of a rectangle, @jacobrocket173 and it is the same thing as I said: sum of all sides.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or you can just do 4(8)=P...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanxs now Find the perimeter of a rectangle with l = 0.85 m and w = 0.4 m. A. 1.25 m B. 2.5 m C. 0.34 m D. 0.68 m

OpenStudy (anonymous):

rectangle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2(0.85)+2(0.4)=P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1.7+0.8=P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1.7+0.8=P

OpenStudy (abb0t):

Same thing, draw out the rectangle. Which has 4 sides, so you know youre going ot be adding two of the same sides and 2 of other same sides. Use: \(\sf \color{blue}{2l + 2w}\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanxs now What is the perimeter of the polygon? A. 18 in. B. 36 in. C. 54 in. D. 108 in.|dw:1443013742394:dw|

OpenStudy (abb0t):

the 2 comes from the fact that you have two sides of equal length. Remember that in a rectangle, two sides are the same. |dw:1443024607773:dw|

OpenStudy (abb0t):

Same for the polygon. PERIMETER just means \(\sf \color{red}{sum}\) of all sides. Add up all the sides!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

HAHAHAHHAHAHHAA

OpenStudy (abb0t):

I've said this like 4 times already!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3 times actually

OpenStudy (anonymous):

XD

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay okay i got it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait last question :) What is the perimeter of the polygon? A. 18 in. B. 36 in. C. 54 in. D. 108 in.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what are the measurements?

OpenStudy (abb0t):

Oh, c'mon! WHAT did I just say perimeter was?!

OpenStudy (abb0t):

Why would you ask?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

maybe its a circle...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait i have already ask that question i mean Which equation could be used to find the perimeter of a rectangle that has a width of 18 ft and a length of 24 ft? A. P = 18 · 24 B. P = 2 · 18 + 24 C. P = 2 · 18 + 2 · 24 D. P = 16 + 24

OpenStudy (adovbush):

lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@jacobrocket173

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea thanxs 2 u guys i just passed my 10th test

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yah, sry, was doing some art

OpenStudy (abb0t):

Perimeter of a circle is basically it's circumference.

OpenStudy (abb0t):

C = 2\(\sf \pi\)r = \(\pi\)d

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh i was just saying that i passed my 10th test
