OpenStudy (anonymous):

For example if you have 3x + 4x = 21, you can combine the 3 and the 4x because they are like terms and get 7x = 21. is that a good one?

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

like terms have EXACTLY the same letters... 2x + 3x ....like terms 4y + 2y....like terms 2x^2 + 4x^2....like terms ax + 4ax...like terms 3x + 2y ....unlike terms 2x + 3x^2 ..unlike terms 3y + 2x^3...unlike terms

OpenStudy (anonymous):

32x+19=43+12x...........32x and 12x are like terms and combine and give you 44x........19 and 43 are like terms and combine to give you 62

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is my example a good one? @texaschic101

OpenStudy (texaschic101):
