Find the average for the following numbers: A) 12 11 1/2 11 2/8 B) 11 7 9 C) 12 13 10
finding the average is basically adding up all of the numbers and then dividing it by how many numbers there were on the data set. e.g. find the average of 10, 20, 30 \[\large \frac{ 10 + 20 + 30 }{ 3 } =\frac{ 60 }{ 3 } = 20\] so 20 is the average from this example data set
I know. But A is confusing for me...
\[\large \frac{ 12 + 11 \frac{ 4 }{ 8 } 11 \frac{ 2 }{ 8 } }{ 3 }\]
notice how i changed 11 1/2 to 11 4/8
34 6/8
no 34 3/4
\[\frac{ 6 \div 2 }{ 8 \div 2 } = \frac{ 3 }{ 4 }\]
Oh yeah. My bad. I got carried away.
The next step would be dividing that by 3.
yes
That's where I got stuck...

@calculusxy
Tip: \(\huge \frac{ 3 }{ 4 }\) can also be written as \(\huge 0.75\).

Yeah...I know, but I do not see how that can help?
Oh really? You don't know how to do this? Okay... |dw:1443036762728:dw|
Humiliating me doesn't help either.
