HELP PLEASE

OpenStudy (liv1234):

@hartnn @geny55

hartnn (hartnn):

whats the question ?

OpenStudy (liv1234):

Make a mapping diagram for the relation. {(-2,-6), (0,3), (1,-5), (5,0)}

hartnn (hartnn):

ok, so the arrow that starts from -2 should go to -6

hartnn (hartnn):

similarly, the arrow starting from 0 goes to 3 and same for others which option has that property ?

OpenStudy (liv1234):

C? And could you help me with another one? And i LOVE YOUR PROFILE PICTURE!

hartnn (hartnn):

C is correct :) sure yes, I love it too :D

OpenStudy (liv1234):

Okay, I'll post it. And it's kinda funny cause I was watching Dragon Ball this morning, I'm rewatching all the episodes cx

hartnn (hartnn):

cool! :)

OpenStudy (liv1234):

OpenStudy (liv1234):

OpenStudy (liv1234):

OpenStudy (liv1234):

Okay, that's the one. Sorry for the multiple pictures.

hartnn (hartnn):

which one do you think?

OpenStudy (liv1234):

I was thinking D, but I think I'm wrong.

hartnn (hartnn):

If you can draw a vertical line anywhere on a graph so that it hits the graph in more than one spot, then the graph is NOT a function.

OpenStudy (liv1234):

So, it's not D?

hartnn (hartnn):

nope, try C

OpenStudy (liv1234):

So, C would be correct?

hartnn (hartnn):

yes :)

OpenStudy (liv1234):

Omg thank you(:

OpenStudy (liv1234):

Can you help me with one more? I think I have the answer, but I keep getting confused.

hartnn (hartnn):

sure ask :)

OpenStudy (liv1234):

Okay, I'll post it here. c:

OpenStudy (liv1234):

OpenStudy (liv1234):

OpenStudy (liv1234):

OpenStudy (liv1234):

OpenStudy (liv1234):

The one I clicked is the one that I think is right

hartnn (hartnn):

where would be (3/2, 0) on the graph?? on x axis or on y axis?

OpenStudy (liv1234):

I'm not sure, but it seems like all of the domain and range things are the same. That's what is confusing me

hartnn (hartnn):

ok, domain is just the set of all x values range is the set of y values

hartnn (hartnn):

and 3/2, 0 will lie in x axis at 3/2 distance from Origin so what you clicked isn't correct

OpenStudy (liv1234):

My other assumption was that A is the answer.

hartnn (hartnn):

yes, its A :)

OpenStudy (liv1234):

Omg that was my first guess but I was thrown off. cx thank you! I have to catch up on my overdue work and really wanna watch Dragon Ball when I'm done lol. I appreciate your help.

hartnn (hartnn):

you're most welcome ^_^ Enjoy the awesome show ;)

OpenStudy (liv1234):

@hartnn I got stuck on a question, could you help?

OpenStudy (liv1234):

hartnn (hartnn):

sure

hartnn (hartnn):

for direct variation the ratio of y to x is constant

hartnn (hartnn):

when y = 72, x =18 so y/x = 72/18 = 4

hartnn (hartnn):

do that for ther set of values and see if you get the ratio as 4 or not

OpenStudy (liv1234):

I'm confused.

hartnn (hartnn):

24/6 = 4 or not? 216/54 = 4 or not?? 648/162 = 4 or not ??

OpenStudy (liv1234):

They are all true.

OpenStudy (liv1234):

Which means the answer is no?

hartnn (hartnn):

then its a direct varion with k=4 and y = kx :)

OpenStudy (liv1234):

So, it would be A?

hartnn (hartnn):

yes

OpenStudy (liv1234):

Yay! Would you be able to help me with a couple more?

hartnn (hartnn):

I can try :)

OpenStudy (liv1234):

Thank you very much(:

hartnn (hartnn):

y = kx y = 2.52, x =8.4 so k = 2.52/8.4 = ... ?

OpenStudy (liv1234):

0.3?

OpenStudy (liv1234):

But, that's not one of the choices though

hartnn (hartnn):

because thats the value of k :) y = kx = 2.7*0.3 = ... ? the answer to that will be in the choices

OpenStudy (liv1234):

0.81 (:

hartnn (hartnn):

yusss

OpenStudy (liv1234):

I have two more questions, can you still help? (:

hartnn (hartnn):

yes

OpenStudy (liv1234):

hartnn (hartnn):

1 1/3 = 1+1/3 = 4/3

hartnn (hartnn):

so it would be w = 4/3 t

OpenStudy (liv1234):

So it can't be A or C?

hartnn (hartnn):

and if you multiply that by 5 we get 20/3 which is just 6 2/3

hartnn (hartnn):

its B :)

OpenStudy (liv1234):

Yay! Can you help me with one more?

hartnn (hartnn):

sure

OpenStudy (liv1234):

OpenStudy (liv1234):

OpenStudy (liv1234):

OpenStudy (liv1234):

That's the question

hartnn (hartnn):

y = 5/2 x so when x =2, y will be 5 which line passes through origin and the point 2,5 ??

OpenStudy (liv1234):

D?

hartnn (hartnn):

nope locate 2,5 on the graph

OpenStudy (liv1234):

Oh wait, it kinda looks like it is B.

OpenStudy (liv1234):

Omg wait, is it C?

hartnn (hartnn):

|dw:1443209456658:dw| yes its C :)
