Explain the difference between average and total kinetic energy

Do you understand what average means?
It's the the sum of all the values of something divided by the total number of whatever it is you have.

For instance, the average between the grades of 5 students who scored:
1, 2, 5, 2, 3 is:

total, is simply the sum of all of them.
The sum of all scores is: 1+2+5+2+3 = total

average kinetic and total kinetic energy are two seperate formulae as well.
