okay so i am in algebra 1 and i keep getting these two problems wrong. i got all of the other ones right but i keep getting these two wrong so i end up getting a 60%! this will be the fourth time that i will be redoing it. someone please help me!!! its making me so upset and i want to get my assignment higher than a 60% because i really care about my grades and i really want to pass algebra! It has been determined that an average high school student uses 13,000 yards of pencil lead during their time in school. What is this distance in inches? Using your answer the #4, if 1 pencil is 12
There are 36 inches in a yard.
(3 feet per yard) and multiply 3 by 12 inches to get 36 inches
If you want to convert 13,000 yards to inches, multiply by 36.
okay, so then i just do 36 times 13,000 and that will be my answer?
Yup :)
thank you soooo much!! do you know what the next one would be? Using your answer the #4, if 1 pencil is 12 inches long, how many pencils does the average student need to purchase for school? #4 was the question we just did :)
Calculate to see how many inches are there in 13000 yards and divide it by the length of the pencil. :)
thank you so much, both of you!!
im a little bit confused again
do i have to round my answer for the first one? i got 468,000 for the first one. so im kinda confused
That is the answer. Nothing to round.
okay, now i get it :) so then for the second one, do i just do 468,000 divided by 12?
Yup!
okay! thank you so much. you are amazing! you have a wonderful gift to be awesome at math :)
