well in the first picture it looks like he's ready for what is ahead of him and powerful. In the second picture they look exhausted and their mood switched to gloomy. @gahoolianowl
exactly. they set out confidant in themselves and ready for a fight. unfortunately for them, it's hard to maintain that morale and health when you're at the top of a mountain covered in snow and ice.
