what was babylon accomplishments 3 at least

OpenStudy (ayeeeitskateee):

Babylon was one of the largest of the Mesopotamian city-states and pioneered several important advances in the ancient world.; a) Architecture: The Babylonians were well-known for their large-scale buildings, such as the Ishtar Gate and the Hanging Gardens. b) Code of Laws: King Hammurabi helped define several modern legal concepts in his ancient code of laws, one of the earliest in human history. Things such as paternity, inheritance, liability and divorce were first recorded in this code of laws. c) Urbanization: Advanced urban planning techniques allowed Babylon to become the first human city to reach over 200,000 people. d) 60-Minute Hour: Thanks to the Babylonians, we now have a simplified system of timekeeping. e) Irrigation: Large-scale agriculture was helped along when the Babylonians invented advanced irrigation techniques to grow crops out of the fertile soils of the Tigris and Euphrates rivers.

why did they fall

OpenStudy (ayeeeitskateee):

The Greeks were a people with a long history of civilization. They imposed this civilization on all the people they conquered, building new cities with Greek civilizations. Babylon was no longer the principal city in the area and began to decline. As Babylon declined so did the Mesopotamian civilization.

OpenStudy (ayeeeitskateee):

The Chaldeans were people who lived in southern Babylonia which would be the southern part of Iraq today. Sometimes the term Chaldeans is used to refer to Babylonians in general, but normally it refers to a specific semi-nomadic tribe that lived in the southern part of Babylon. The land of the Chaldeans was the southern portion of Babylon or Mesopotamia. It was generally thought to be an area about 400 miles long and 100 miles wide alongside of the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers. I'm not sure on that question, but I looked it up and this is what I got.
