Why are nucleus acids, proteins, and other large biological molecules known as polymers

OpenStudy (anonymous):

They are the "multiple" units, of the organic compound. Its kind of like how the plural form of dog is dogs- so is the polymer unit (pluralization) of different organic compounds nucleic acids, proteins...and so on.

Nucleic acids, proteins, and other large biological molecules are known as polymers because they contain many small, repeating subunits bonded together. they all have the capability of functioning as enzymes. they all contain only ionic bonds. they are the base units used in the formation of plastics.
