What effect did the Crusades have on trade? Trade throughout the Mediterranean was destroyed. Trading cities became more important. Italian merchants saw their fortunes ruined. Europeans began to sell their own spices.

B, there was a huge growth in trade due to increased association with the Middle East.

Trade through the Mediterranean stayed stagnant, if increased slightly, so the answer isn't A. Italian merchants grew rich and prosperous due to the goods brought back from The Crusades, so not C. And Europeans had not decided to sell their own spices at all through the Medieval, not before The Crusades, nor after. So the answer has to be B.
