so I have to write an essay like 3 paragraphs basically about explaining and describing three chief schools of philosophy during the Hellenistic Age, so the Cynic, the Stoic and the Epicurean. I am not sure where to start off, that's what I need help with.

Well your essay just needs to describe these three schools of philosophy, so start with a "hook" sentence in the beginning, then tell some basic information. for your thesis you will most likely want something like, "During the Hellenistic age, philosophers were primarily divided into three types of philosophical schools, the cynic, the stoic, and the epicurean." then, in your body paragraphs, expand on each of these schools of philosophy, spending about 1-3 paragraphs each, depending on how long of an essay you need, including how they were similar and different. then follow with a conclusion.. use lots of specific dates and examples, including people.

Cynic: A member of a sect of ancient Greek philosophers who held virtue to be the only good, and stressed independence from worldly needs and pleasures: they became critical of the rest of society and its material interests.

Stoic: A disciple of the philosopher Zeno, who founded a sect about 308 B.C. He taught that men should be free from passion, unmoved by joy or grief, and submit without complaint to the divine will and unavoidable necessity by which all things are governed.

Epicurian: The philosophy of Epicurus or his school, which held that the goal of a man should be a life of pleasure regulated by morality, temperance, and cultural development.
