an easier way to solve this would be through putting the first equation in terms of y =.... and substituting this into the second equation ( though you could use elimination method too but in this case substitution looks easier), try doing so and post up what you get

use the elimination method First, multiply the first equation by 2 then add this will eliminate x so you can solve for y
