@AlexandervonHumboldt2

OpenStudy (alexandervonhumboldt2):

what do you think?

OpenStudy (marigirl):

Its like saying .. Think of a number. divide it by 2 and add 5. It will equal 9 So we have to work backwards right? so what will you do first?

OpenStudy (alexandervonhumboldt2):

first you have to ssubtract 5 from both sides. x/2+5-5=9-5 x/2=4 now multiply both sides by 2 : x/2*2=4*2 x=?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the first one

Directrix (directrix):

>the first one Not correct. If you multiply both sides by 2 first, then there will be no 5 to add to both sides. @Demi_xx

i chose b. is it wrong?

Directrix (directrix):

No, option B is not wrong

Directrix (directrix):

From above, x/2+5-5=9-5 x/2=4 Subtract 5 and multiply by to get 8 for x.
