CAN SOMEONE HELP ME?!?! Use the Remainder Theorem to completely factor p(x) = x^3 + 7x^2 + 11x + 5

OpenStudy (faolan):

I don't get what to do..................................................................................................... :'(

Parth (parthkohli):

-1 works as a root. \(x+1\) is a factor.

OpenStudy (faolan):

so...what do i do?

OpenStudy (faolan):

how am i supposed to find the factor?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!??!

OpenStudy (freckles):

divide p(x) by (x+1)

OpenStudy (faolan):

so..... x+1/x^3 + 7x^2 + 11x + 5

OpenStudy (faolan):

@freckles

OpenStudy (faolan):

do i divide those?

OpenStudy (faolan):

thx for the help..... :'(

OpenStudy (freckles):

well you divide p(x) by (x+1) not (x+1) by p(x) just like you know 2 is a factor of 6 and you can find another factor of 6 by dividing 6 by 2
