Nnesha (nnesha):
same question like we did before
hartnn (hartnn):
a and c are given
concentrate on Angle A!
we have opposite side and hypotenuse!
which trigonometric ratio will you use?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Nnesha it was wrong though :) by the way I found out that he doesn't want the degree symbol
Nnesha (nnesha):
do you mean 28 and 62 was wrong ??

it said undefined when I entered it
OpenStudy (anonymous):
hartnn do we set up a proportion only using 90?
Nnesha (nnesha):
what ?? o.O
Nnesha (nnesha):
alright i'll check it out let
i'll try t ofind what was wrong .... hmmm
hartnn (hartnn):
setup a trignometric proportion,
what will be sin A?

OpenStudy (shaik0124):
length b is 4
hartnn (hartnn):
and yes,
if one of the angles in a triangle is 90, only then we can use the definitions of trigonometric ratios
OpenStudy (anonymous):
sin A=a/5
hartnn (hartnn):
a is given to be 3!
OpenStudy (anonymous):
sinA=3/5 :)

hartnn (hartnn):
so you can find the angle A now?
OpenStudy (shaik0124):
for length b apply pythagoras theorem
OpenStudy (anonymous):
hartnn, if i'm not mistaken wouldn't you need to take the inverse of sin-1(3/5)?
hartnn (hartnn):
yes thats correct
OpenStudy (anonymous):
I got 36.8, but since they want exact measures that would be 37 degrees

OpenStudy (shaik0124):
a^2+b^2=c^2
32+b2=52
9+b2=25
b2=25-9
b2=16
b=4
hartnn (hartnn):
its weird that they need the measure of angles without decimals.
yes, go with 37
hartnn (hartnn):
they want "EXACT" measures and also not in decimals :P lol
OpenStudy (anonymous):
XD I don't know I don't write these problems :D for sin(b), the proportion would equal sin-1(4/5)
hartnn (hartnn):
one shortcut way to find B is to use the fact that sum of all angles in a triangle is 180 :)

Nnesha (nnesha):
that's exactly how we solved first question
so 28 was the correct answer
OpenStudy (anonymous):
hartnn I wasn't sure if that would be accurate because we rounded lol
OpenStudy (shaik0124):
:) 90+A+B=180
Nnesha (nnesha):
28+62+90 =180 \(\huge\color{green}{\checkmark}\)
OpenStudy (anonymous):
but for sin(b) I got 53 degrees

hartnn (hartnn):
so probably we can expect that 37 here will be given wrong :P
hartnn (hartnn):
yes, B = 53 if rounded
OpenStudy (anonymous):
it mentions that it's wrong :/
Nnesha (nnesha):
ouch again!
OpenStudy (shaik0124):
HAha enjoy sana

Nnesha yea :/ it's really annoying
hartnn (hartnn):
try 36.86
if that doesn't work,
try \(\arcsin(3/5)\)
if that doesn't work, not sure what will :P
OpenStudy (shaik0124):
atleast the answer i gave length b =4 is correct :)
OpenStudy (ac3):
stop it wants the exact value
OpenStudy (ac3):
decimals will not work

OpenStudy (ac3):
I don't see how it wants you to get the exact angle if it's not even on the unit circle
hartnn (hartnn):
did
\(\arcsin(3/5) \)
work ?
Nnesha (nnesha):
whats ur instructor sayz?
did he replid ?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
hartnn Will try arcsin 3/5, but I have one last attempt before I get a new problem
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Nnesha not yet but it mentioned how it doesn't want the degree symbol

hartnn (hartnn):
don't go for 36.86
they specifically mentioned no decimals...
OpenStudy (ac3):
if it doesn't want the degree symbol it probably wants it in that form arcsin(3/5)
OpenStudy (anonymous):
and for b? arcsin(4/5)?
Nnesha (nnesha):
right
Nnesha (nnesha):
B*
b=4

guyssss it's correct :D thank you a lot all of you
OpenStudy (anonymous):
they just wanted the arcsin
hartnn (hartnn):
yaaaaay! :D
OpenStudy (ac3):
sometimes it's just a matter of following the directions
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Ac3 sometimes the directions aren't so clear :D

Well it was in bold.
OpenStudy (ac3):
lol
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Ac3 XD anyways
OpenStudy (ac3):
lol if you need any help i'll be online for a bit.
hartnn (hartnn):
move on to next problem!
