Can someone help me with the slope intercept method? My question is y = -3/4x + 2 and y = 1/3x - 1. Thanks!!!

pooja195 (pooja195):

y=mx+b <---slope intercept form what do you mean by method?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So I understand Table of values and normal intercept methods. The one with 2 intercepts. Just not this one.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Method = how to do it

pooja195 (pooja195):

So do you have to list the slope and y intercept ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have to graph it. Sorry I didn't mention that.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

first you plot b. I know that. But after that is what I don't get.

pooja195 (pooja195):

ah ok this shouldnt be to hard lets start with y=-3/4x+2 We always start at 2 on the y axis (the one that goes up and down) |dw:1444000276733:dw|

pooja195 (pooja195):

Slope equals rise over run

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and that is -3/4 right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so it would be -1,5?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-1,4*

pooja195 (pooja195):

Yes but in this case we go down 3 because it is negative

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok. So it is -1, 4. That is all my teacher requires. The base and the next. So for the next one, it would be 0,3?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Next question, not interval or whatever.
