What transportation problem did Robert Fulton solve with his development of the steamboat? A.) Without the steamboat, trade was conducted across roads that were overcrowded B.) Before the steamboat, trade along the Mississippi could move only in one direction C.) Until Fulton began using steam, only gas-powered boats could move along the Mississippi D.) Prior to Fulton, boats were too small to carry large numbers of passangers
@Breelervsyu which answer do you think it is and why?
B because...idk lol. just an educated guess I guess :) um it didn't have the power to move up river?
@Breelervsyu C is wrong because steam boats came BEFORE gas boats so we can eliminate that answer choice .
i'm pretty sure that large numbers of people came on ships/boats to north america so D is wrong they did have large boats.
@Breelervsyu I think you are correct because, there was no way people could go up stream I think without a force that could propel a boat in a direction against the current.
@Xspead101 what do you think?
Yea but photon if that was the case then how did the the sailboats before go up and down the river?
@Photon336 hello?
so what answer are you thinking then?
I could see a case for choice A
I Do not know its kind of confusing because unless the current was stronger back then and I could see A being an answer too.
I see what you mean though @Shalante thoughts?
we're having a little bit of a debate @Shalante between A/B
i'm going to go with A
alright that sounds okay and nice having the debate with you @Photon336 but I have to go.
that's why it's good to have a second opinion
