Which line is a graph of the equation: 2x + 5y = –10? Number graph ranging from negative five to five on the x axis and negative six to two on the y axis. Four lines are drawn in blue on the graph. Lines a and c have a positive slope and are parallel to each other. Lines b and d have a negative slope and are parallel to each other. Lines a and b intersect at (zero, two), and lines c and d intersect at (zero, negative two). A.line a B.line b C.line c D.line d

@ksanka @texaschic101 @Jhannybean

OpenStudy (pinklion23):

i think i get -5,-2? but I AM CONFUSED

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

2x + 5y = -10 5y = -2x - 10 y = -2/5x - 2 so in this equation, your y int is (0,-2) to find your x int, sub in 0 for y 2x + 5(0) = -10 2x = -10 x = -5 and you x int is (-5,0) now which line has the points (0,-2) and (-5,0) ?

OpenStudy (pinklion23):

right i knew that.......... so line c

OpenStudy (pinklion23):

XD

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

not C......try again....(-5,0)...and (0,-2)

OpenStudy (pinklion23):

oh a sorry

OpenStudy (pinklion23):

i got mixed up

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

not A......points are always set up like this (x,y).....take a look at line D. Are your points on this line ?

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

those negatives will mess with your brain...lol

OpenStudy (pinklion23):

yes im sorry I do not have my contacts in and it is a small graph and i can not see very well

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

no need to apologize.....it is kinda small. It is D.

OpenStudy (pinklion23):

thx so much that is all i have for now :)
