If an object has a mass of 50 kilograms, what would it weigh on Uranus, where the acceleration due to gravity is 10.5 meters/second2? 4.77 newtons 47.7 newtons 52.5 newtons 525 newtons

OpenStudy (anonymous):

525 newtons

OpenStudy (zephyr141):

weight is the force of gravity acting on a mass. so\[F=ma\]\[F=(50kg)*\left(10.5\frac{m}{s^2}\right)\]which is 525 N

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you dont even need the equations for that. if the accelleration due to gravity is greater than earth, we already know that the the answer must be greater than 500N, the first 3 are ridiculously low leveing you wiht the last answer.
