What is the difference between theoretical and experimental probability?

@JackofallTradez

Mehek (mehek14):

Theoretical Probability of an event is the number of ways that the event can occur for example: the theoretical probability of getting heads when flipping a coin is 1/2 Experimental probability refers to the probability of an event occurring when an experiment was conducted. so if you flipped a coin 2 times and got tails twice the experimental probability of getting heads is 0/2

what does 0/2 mean in words?

Mehek (mehek14):

basically, you flipped a coin 2 times and got tails both of the times you got heads 0 times so 0/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but what does 0/2 mean in words? 0 divideed by 2? @Mehek14

Mehek (mehek14):

0/2 = 0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or does it mean 0 out of 2?

Mehek (mehek14):

0 divided by 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok :)
