What is the equation of a line that has a slope of -5 and passes through the point (0, 2)? y = -5x y = -5x + 2 y = 2x - 5

@KendrickLamar2014

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Y=mx+b M=slope... B is also known as the Y-intercept

OpenStudy (candyme):

y=mx+b You want the number in front of the x to be -5 and the b part to be the y-intercept (which was also provided) Can you write it based on that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Slope is always next to the variable and in the case your slope is -5 so you can eliminate the last one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you

OpenStudy (kendricklamar2014):

I was too late :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And you have the point (0,2) the two is in the y place so that is your y-intercept and as said before b= y-intercept
